S.O.S. GA County Animal Shelter FULL!

2717

Here is an email we just received from the Clayton County Animal Shelter located in GA. They sure could use some help from animal rescues or someone who is looking to adopt a nice dog or cat.

S.O.S. SHELTER FULL!

We are asking all rescues as well as the general public for immediate help in getting as many animals as possible out of our shelter and into good homes. Due to higher temperatures our influx of animals is higher than ever. We have more animals coming into the shelter than going out and we do not have the space to continue to house them all. We cannot create space and unless these animals are not adopted or rescued prior to 7/26 @ 1pm we will need to make a very hard decision. Please take the time to look at and share our “Available Pets Album” along with this message and help save a life. We have a numerous amount of animals that would make great companions, they just need the opportunity to show you how great they can be. Please help them by helping us find them a forever home.

If you would like to rescue or adopt an animal from our shelter please email rescue.coordianator@co.clayton.ga.us, or call us at 770-477-3509. We are located at 1396 Government Circle, Jonesboro, GA 30236.

In State/Out of state adopters, rescues and those interested in adopting a Pit Bull or Pit Bull Mix please read below.

IN STATE ADOPTERS(GA) – If you are in GA and interested in an animal at our shelter please contact a licensed GA rescue group that can assist you in pulling this animal. We work very closely with Safe Harbor Rescue, Angels Among Us Pet Rescue, TLC Pet Rescue, Shelter Dog Rescue, Courtney’s Canine Care) just to name a few.

OUT OF STATE ADOPTERS/RESCUES – If located out of state and interested in an animal at our shelter please contact a rescue group that is in your state. The out of state rescue groups can then get in contact with a rescue here in GA (i.e. Safe Harbor Rescue, TLC Pet Rescue, Courtney’s Canine Care and Shelter Dog Rescue) that can pull the dog for their group. For help coordinating with a local rescue, please contact Partners for Pets, Inc. They can be emailed at ccacpartners@gmail.com. It is between the two groups to coordinate transportation of the pet to your location.

*When working with any rescue group a screening is typically required prior to adopting a dog or cat.
