“Very Special Pets” (VSP) Grant Program
A program designed to benefit the homeless pet population within targeted communities.
Through the VSP program, WagBrag partners with no-kill pet rescue organizations that have a reputation in their community for doing excellent work. WagBrag provides funding to permanently sponsor a portion of the real estate within the shelter, such as a dog kennel or a cathouse. Throughout the year, any pets housed in that space become the Wagbrag “Very Special Pets”.
The sponsor money can be used for medical, training, rehabilitation or other costs associated with providing the necessary care for that animal.
WagBrag is not trying to reinvent the wheel; rather we seek to fund the excellent work these pet rescue organizations are already doing. Our objective is to make a tangible impact in the re-homing of pets, one community at a time. And the best way to do that is to partner with local shelters.
How You Can Help Support This Program
Wagbrag readers can help support the homeless pet population and the VSP program in a couple of simple ways.
- First, visit Wagbrag.com often, as we post useful pet health and wellness information, as well as compelling rescue stories.
- Also, follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook if you don’t already.
- Additionally, if you have a compelling animal rescue story, whether you rescued the animal yourself, or your local shelter did, email that story to Wagbrag. Your story may be featured on the website, and possibly even considered as a candidate for the VSP program.

RESCUE ME GA: Rescue Me GA started when two women came together with the same passion: saving the forgotten dogs of Jasper County, Georgia – located about 90 miles southeast of Atlanta. They are an all volunteer, 501c3 non profit organization. When they commit to a dog, they will do whatever is needed to make sure that dog gets the chance it deserves. Since November 2011, they have saved more than 2,500 dogs.
OUR PAL’S PLACE: The mission of Our Pal’s Place is to bring about a time when all animals are treated with kindness and compassion. Our Pal’s Place rescues orphaned pets from “death row” in county shelters and houses them in their pet adoption facility. Their animal residents are vaccinated, spay/neutered and micro-chipped. They also receive “good manner” training while they prepare them to go into a home. Their Learning Center offers fun, innovative programs for youth and adults that teach solutions to end current animal welfare problems.
