Cutest Pet Contest

A picture really is worth 1000 words. And where better to show off your best pet friend then to enter them in a photo contest?

There are lots of them out there and the grand prizes are sometimes $1000 or more.

Here are the top pet contests that made our short list for the best pet contests to enter.

Cutest Pet Contest

At cutestpetcontest.com, they have a quarterly photo competition where the entries are voted on by visitors to their site. The cutest pets with the most votes will be placed in their next pet photo book and qualify as semifinalists for a chance to win $1000.

There are no fees to enter and $100 Pet Smart gift cards are awarded every quarter. The grand prize of $1000 is awarded annually.

While dogs and cats are certainly the majority of the entries, any pet is eligible. It is important, however, to know that this contest is open only to amateur photographers.

If you have more than one pet, you can submit a group picture to the contest but only one picture per family will be accepted. But the great part is that this contest goes on quarterly so you can submit another three pictures as the year goes on.

Modern Dog Magazine

The next contest to think about is at Modern Dog Magazine http://moderndogmagazine.com/photocontest which conducts a weekly photo contest that is open to canine pictures only. Site visitors vote on their favorites and the winner of the contest that week is named the “Dog of the Week” and featured on the moderndogmagazine.com web site home page.

Another benefit to entering this weekly contest is that winner becomes eligible for an appearance in an upcoming issue of Modern Dog Magazine.

Each Monday, the dog with the most votes from the previous week will appear on the web site. You can enter this contest as many times as you like and the web site also encourages you to vote through different Internet streams like e-mail, blogging and social network sites.

The editors recommend that you not log in as a user to the web site itself because it limits your ability to cast more than one vote. Using guest status, you’ll be able to vote for each dog every 12 hours.

Pet Connection Monthly Contest

The folks at http://petconnection.ca conduct a monthly photo contest looking for the cutest, most charming and wonderful pet. Any pet qualifies, not just a dog or cat and voting begins on the third day of every month.

You’re permitted to vote one time per IP address but you can vote for as many entrants you want during that single time.

A free voter account is available so you can come back time and again to vote for more favorite pets.

At the end of the year, all 12 pets are voted on and the winner will be placed in their pet cover contest. The grand prize winner will go on the cover of the following year’s Pet Connection Magazine.

Monthly winners are eligible to be part of their annual pet calendar but this is limited to winners from January through October due to the need to print the calendar.

Do you have pictures of the cutest, most remarkable pet in the world? Take a look at the websites that we have listed in this post and get out there and enter.

Hamsters, gerbils, ferrets and any other pet are welcome in two of the contests we’ve listed. If you’re dog lover, send your pictures to all three of them.
